Poso play i sona ¡Pura Vida!, el tema que obre aquest disc homònim d'inspiració caribenya del poderós sextet de Pol Omedes. Al cap de pocs segons tinc dibuixat a la cara un somriure ben revelador. Van passant els temes i aquest line-up de luxe excel·leix interpretant composicions brillants i savis arranjaments del mestre Omedes. En Pol sap el que es fa quan es tracta de tocar la trompeta, però també quan s'han de posar notes al pentagrama. I tant que sí! No paro de murmurar yeahs, uuuhs i mmms. Em ve al cap l'Afro-Cuban del gran Kenny Dorham. Que bo! I quan s'acosta el final del disc apareix Naima de John Coltrane, un dels meus temes preferits. Ja ho sabia, però se m'han ben guanyat. I a tu també et passarà, creu-me. Ladies & gentlemen: ¡Pura Vida!

Solid ‘Tradition’ with splashes of freshness, fun, and fire are what you’ll hear from the compositions and playing of trumpeter Pol Omedes on his wonderful new recording ¡Pura Vida!

The mostly original composition set and two classic Jazz Standards showcase his writing, arranging skills, and the bands finesse and solid communication. Omedes is also a vocalist on the opening track with another vocal feature from Helena Camps bringing even more variety to this recording!
