“Quan l’Anyell va obrir el setè segell, es va fer silenci al cel durant una mitja hora. Després vaig veure que els àngels que estan drets davant de Déu rebien tres trompetes. Llavors va venir un altre àngel amb un encenser d’or i es va posar vora l’altar. Li donaren perfums d’encens a mans plenes, perquè els oferís, amb les pregàries de tot el poble sant, a l’altar d’or que hi ha davant el tron. I el fum de l’encens, junt amb les pregàries del poble sant, va pujar de mans de l’àngel fins a la presència de Déu. Després l’àngel va omplir l’encenser amb foc de l’altar i l’abocà a la terra, i van esclatar-hi tronades, veus, llamps i un terratrèmol.

Aleshores els àngels que tenien les tres trompetes van preparar-se per a tocar. Va tocar el primer, i foren abocats a la terra una pedregada i un foc barrejats amb sang. La tercera part de la terra, la tercera part dels arbres i tota l’herba van quedar abrusats. Va tocar el segon àngel, i fou abocada al mar una mena de gran muntanya, roent de foc. Una tercera part del mar es va tornar sang; la tercera part dels animals que hi viuen va morir i la tercera part de les naus va ser destruïda. Va tocar el tercer àngel, i un astre gegantí, encès com una torxa, caigué del cel sobre la tercera part dels rius i de les fonts d’aigua. El nom de l’astre és Absenta, i la tercera part de les aigües es va convertir en absenta, i molta gent va morir per culpa de l’aigua que s’havia tornat amarga. Van tocar els tres àngels i la foscor colpí la tercera part del sol, la tercera part de la lluna i la tercera part de les estrelles. Tant el dia com la nit perderen així un terç de la seva llum.
En plena visió, vaig sentir el batec d’una àguila que volava altíssima pel cel i que proclamava amb veu forta:
– Ai, ai, ai dels habitants de la terra pels últims tocs de trompeta que els tres àngels estan a punt de fer!”

Cuando abrió el séptimo sello, se hizo silencio en el cielo como por media hora. Y vi a los siete ángeles que estaban en pie ante Dios; y se les dieron siete trompetas. Otro ángel vino entonces y se paró ante el altar, con un incensario de oro; y se le dio mucho incienso para añadirlo a las oraciones de todos los santos, sobre el altar de oro que estaba delante del trono. Y de la mano del ángel subió a la presencia de Dios el humo del incienso con las oraciones de los santos. Y el ángel tomó el incensario, y lo llenó del fuego del altar, y lo arrojó a la tierra; y hubo truenos, y voces, y relámpagos, y un terremoto.

Y los siete ángeles que tenían las siete trompetas se dispusieron a tocarlas. El primer ángel tocó la trompeta, y hubo granizo y fuego mezclados con sangre, que fueron lanzados sobre la tierra; y la tercera parte de los árboles se quemó, y se quemó toda la hierba verde. El segundo ángel tocó la trompeta, y como una gran montaña ardiendo en fuego fue precipitada en el mar; y la tercera parte del mar se convirtió en sangre. Y murió la tercera parte de los seres vivientes que estaban en el mar, y la tercera parte de las naves fue destruida. El tercer ángel tocó la trompeta, y cayó del cielo una gran estrella, ardiendo como una antorcha, y cayó sobre la tercera parte de los ríos, y sobre las fuentes de las aguas. Y el nombre de la estrella es Ajenjo. Y la tercera parte de las aguas se convirtió en ajenjo; y muchos hombres murieron a causa de esas aguas, porque se hicieron amargas. El cuarto ángel tocó la trompeta, y fue herida la tercera parte del sol, y la tercera parte de la luna, y la tercera parte de las estrellas, para que se oscureciese la tercera parte de ellos, y no hubiese luz en la tercera parte del día, y asimismo de la noche.

Y miré, y oí a un ángel volar por en medio del cielo, diciendo a gran voz:

- ¡Ay, ay, ay, de los que moran en la tierra, a causa de los otros toques de trompeta que están para sonar los tres ángeles!

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them. The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice:

- “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
