No cal recórrer a la llegenda de l'au fènix per acotar el títol del tema que dóna nom a aquest recull. Fire Wash, «netejar amb foc», és una tasca que han utilitzat des de temps remots els pagesos més hàbils i experimentats. Cremar els rostolls dels marges i les males herbes de l'hort per tornar a començar amb una terra més fèrtil. En el camp de les creences religioses, alguns líders espirituals hindús han predicat hàbits de neteja del cos i l'ànima mitjançant un bany de flames vives. Una confluència d'aquests procediments aparentment oposats, pragmatisme i pur misticisme, es pot trobar en moltes residències d'estudiants, en les seves estratègies desesperades per rentar els plats acumulats a la pica de la cuina.

Amb aquesta metàfora en ment va idear-se la música que escoltareu. Un torrent de purificació, unes flames imparables, un riu d'espurnes que flueix des de la primera a l'última peça d'aquest disc.

Menció especial a en Perico Sambeat, saxofonista que no necessita presentació. Si de totes maneres és el primer cop que l'escolteu, fixeu-vos en els seus solos i us quedarà clar com la seva energia ha fet de guspira per encendre aquest incendi sonor.

It’s not necessary to tell again the legend behind the phoenix bird to explain the meaning of this album. Fire Wash, 'to clean with fire', is a task that the most experienced farmers have been using since ancient times. Burning the margins of their fields or the weeds in their orchard to get a fertile new soil. In a more mystical approach, some Hindu spiritual leaders have preached about a method to cleanse body and soul through a flame bath ritual. A sort of mixture of these two apparently opposed procedures —pragmatic and otherwordly— can be found in some students' apartments, in their most desperate attempts to wash the dishes stacked in the sink.

With this image in mind we created the music you will listen to. A stream of purification, a flow of unstoppable flames, a burning river that drifts through the pieces of this recording.

Shout out to Perico Sambeat, a voice with no introduction needed. Still, if you are new to him, listen to his solos. You will understand how his energy sparks this wildfire of sound.
